INFRA (the Nationally Significant Multimodal Freight & Highway Projects program) awards competitive grants for multimodal freight and highway projects of national or regional significance to improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of the movement of freight and people in and across rural and urban areas.

Infrastructure investing provides financing to build, purchase or upgrade tangible assets that provide essential services in two key categories: 1) Economic assets such as airports, power plants and cell towers, and 2) Social assets such as hospitals, schools and parks.

Through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, the federal government is investing more than $33 billion in public infrastructure projects across the country. Through the Program, the Government of Canada is helping to build stronger communities, grow our economy and deliver for Canadians.
